Run Paris to London Route

Countdown to 2005: 9 years, 144 days, 9 hours, and 27 minutes ago

Official times are up. Congratulations to everyone who finished. After I receive all the photos I'll put them up on the site!

Day 8 : The finish! 14 started and 230 miles later 13 finished. Congratulations to all the runners who completed the London Marathon. First to finish was Colin in a fantastic 3:08, Richard broke his personal best with a 3:22 clocking, but wasn't enough to deny Colin the overall victory. I'll update the times from the London Marathon and calculate finishing positions when the times from London are released. What a week... many thanks to everyone who made it posssible.

Day 7 : And we're in London! The seventh marathon in seven days completed. Unfortunately we lost our first runner today - Howard, who was unable to continue with shin problems. Only one marathon to go, give them some encouragement along the way...

Day 6 : 30 miles of undulations negotiated by all to Lingfield Park. A few niggles have finally started to appear after the 6th consecutive marathon, with Howard particularly suffering. Tomorrow is a marathon distance run to cross the start line of London. We're all off to the pub, in the meantime vie some more photos HERE

Day 5 : Welcome to England! Only 3 days left and we still have a full contingent of runners. Everyone is looking strong but a tough 30 mile day awaits tomorrow. Today's stage saw a sprint to Dieppe of 20 miles initially led out by Hugh, who was finally dragged back by Richard and Colin, the latter taking a slender 2 seconds out of the leader. Following the ferry, a casual untimed run back to the Youth hostel with head torches was completed, finally arriving just after 9pm completing a 12 hour marathon! Stage times below are just for the run to Dieppe...

Day 4 : 32 miles complete and again a full contingent of runners arrived in Pommereval. The weather today was less than perfect with intermittent rain throughout the day. Tomorrow a short sprint of 20 miles to Dieppe and a relaxing rest (and pint of Guiness for Hugh) on the ferry followed by a gentle untimed run to Telscombe of 5 miles.

Day 3 : Another day over with all 14 runners safely into Montroty. After a second day of perfect weather, and third consecutive marathon all runners are in high spirits. Today Colin M was first back with Richard just behind both setting marathon times of 3 hours and 40 minutes. Keep the forum messages coming in, as we're able to read them whilst on the road. Some latest photos from David may be viewed HERE

Day 2 : Again all 14 runners successfully negotiated 32 miles of the rolling French countryside to arrive safe and well in Lavilletertre. After the initial neutralized run to the outskirts of Paris was negotiated in 3 hours and 35 minutes with all runners reaching Ennery together, they were set off on their own towards London. First back to the accommodation was Richard who left the others trailing in his wake. A mere marathon of 26.2 miles awaits the runners tomorrow...

Day 1 : Everyone safely over the finish line of the Paris Marathon and back to Colombes to complete the first ultra-marathon of the week. Everyone is in high spirits looking forward to tomorrow and the 32 miles to Lavilletertre. The Compeed generously donated by Chris Belton has been in great demand (hope the shoulder heals in time for London).
